Summary of Position:
ARxIUM is seeking an experienced and driven Electrical Engineer Lead to join our team. This role is key in the design, development, and support of electrical and electromechanical systems used in industrial and medical automation. The ideal candidate is hands-on, solutions-focused, and motivated to work across multiple facets of the product lifecycle-from design through to field support.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field. Equivalent experience and demonstrated success may be considered in lieu of a formal degree.
  • Minimum of 4 years of progressively responsible experience in electrical design or engineering, including significant involvement in major projects.
  • Strong electrical design and analytical capabilities.
  • Proficiency with CAD tools for schematics and wiring diagrams; experience with AutoCAD is an asset.
  • Proven experience in requirements definition, system design, testing, commissioning, and ongoing support.
  • Hands-on experience in the design and testing of electrical control panels and systems in compliance with industry standards.
  • Familiarity with the selection and integration of sensors and actuators in automation systems.
  • Experience with safety systems design and testing, including industry-standard risk assessments (preferred).
  • Experience with PLC hardware and programming; Allen-Bradley PLC experience is a strong asset.
  • Robotics programming and integration experience is an advantage.
  • Solid computer skills, with the ability to work within integrated automation environments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Demonstrated initiative, self-direction, and a resourceful approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design and development of electrical and electromechanical systems for automation solutions in industrial and medical environments.
  • Support system design, manufacturing, installation, commissioning, and field service of ARxIUM automation systems.
  • Collaborate on the design, implementation, and maintenance of automated control systems, including hardware selection and system architecture.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation for system requirements, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Develop and commission PLC, HMI, robot, and control software for new installations and system upgrades. (Training on PLC systems will be provided as needed.)
  • Analyze and troubleshoot system issues using structured problem-solving and collaborative decision-making techniques.
  • Manage the electrical and controls scope of engineering development projects, including planning, execution, and coordination.
