Harkcon, Inc. is pursuing a contract supporting the US Department of Commerce's Office of Privacy and Open Government FOIA and privacy programs. Our team of analysts and specialists will, when we are awarded the work, help reduce the FOIA request backlog and complete incoming requests as well as improve response times to Privacy Act requests. Do you have a documented history of work in FOIA, Privacy Act of 1974, privacy provisions of the E-Government Act and the Federal Information Security Modernization Act? Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience
    • 1 year of experience interpreting and applying FOIA and PA as well as related laws, regulations, policies, and procedures to render a determination to grant access to records as well as drafting responses and maintaining records for FOIA and PA requests OR 3 years of experience as a working paralegal
    • Experience with Microsoft Office software (Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat Pro
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree in one of these fields: Biz Admin, Computer/Data Sci, History, Info/Data/Knowledge Mgmt, Internat'l Affairs/Relations, Law, Library/Info Sci, Mgmt Info Sys, Paralegal Studies, Philosophy, Public Admin
  • Experience
    • 5+ years of experience interpreting and applying the FOIA and PA
    • 2+ years of experience processing FOIA requests using automation such as eDiscovery tools
