Pathology Assistant, Lab TRMC

Job Overview:

The Pathology Assistant will support the Pathologists and the Laboratory Services team in the preparation and examination of tissue specimens.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Bachelor s degree or Master's degree from an accredited Pathologist Assistant program, or in a medical or scientific field with at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
• Eligible to take the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification examination
• Qualified by academic and practical training to assist in providing service in anatomic pathology under the direction and supervision of an anatomic pathologist

Scheduling Requirements:

• Day Shift
• Per Diem

Essential Functions:

• Assist in the gross examination and dissection of surgical specimens, manage laboratory workflow, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
• Ensure accurate and thorough documentation of specimen descriptions, measurements, and findings
• Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations for Tumor Board committee
• Participate in quality assurance and quality control procedures
