Professionals receiving a doctoral degree in psychology should be capable of extending psychological knowledge and exhibiting the high level of analytic skills and theoretical understanding needed to use existing and emerging psychological knowledge. |
Posting Summary |
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Business Assistant II for the Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology (
GSAPP). The position will report to the Dean's Office Business Manager II, and will receive task direction from other leadership in the
GSAPP Dean's office.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Performs a wide range of business support functions involving accounting, HR operations including on-boarding, employment documents and payroll administration, and administrative duties.
- Works under direct supervision, with specific instructions on routine or semi-routine work, and within established work parameters for the unit. Work is usually reviewed upon completion.
- Performs professional work requiring knowledge of business administration, general accounting principles and practices, and the basic application of concepts, theories, and terminology of accounting.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of office administration, organization, coordination, and facilitation.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities |
- Basic knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and a good grasp of bookkeeping/reconciliation processes.
- Good communication skills and excellent computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite incl. Word, Excel, & Outlook).
- Ability to take initiative and prioritize own tasks in a busy environment.
- Must be comfortable with working on large ERP systems.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance
- Experience in Rutgers systems; Oracle Cloud, SciQuest, Supplier portal, HCM/Peoplesoft, and ROCS.
- Grant administration experience.

Equipment Utilized |
- Use of PC using MS Office suite.
- University Oracle systems - to ensure smooth office operations, compliance requirements are met, and accounting principles and procedures are practiced.
