Center for Behavioral Neuroscience

The Center for Behavioral Neuroscience (CBN) at Georgia State University is dedicated to innovating research on the brain mechanisms of behavior, educating new generations of research scientists and students in interdisciplinary approaches to behavioral neuroscience, and transmitting the excitement of scientific discovery to the general public. The CBN is seeking (1) dedicated and experienced Project Coordinator.

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO

The essential duties and responsibilities of the Project Coordinator are the following:

Administrative Support:



  • Provides administrative support to faculty and staff in completing special projects. Facilitates and oversees project development meetings, sends follow-up emails and assists with scheduling, and helps coordinate the CBN annual retreat.


Communications and digital media:



  • Develops and maintains CBN's Social Media Plan. Runs multiple websites for the outreach programs.


Coordinates educational programs:



  • Coordination of education programs, such as the Atlanta Regional Brain Bee, the neuroscience summer school, and the ION summer high school internship program.


Coordinates outreach:



  • Manages the CBN lending library, which has resources for outreach used by scientists across Atlanta. Coordinates outreach activities, such as the Atlanta Science Festival and school visits.


General office support:



  • Helps with budget management, time approvals for student positions, and mentoring student workers.

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree and two years' related experience; or a high school diploma or GED and six years related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.


Preferred Hiring Qualifications:



  • Familiarity with Georgia State University policy and procedures regarding travel, purchasing, disbursements, the ability to communicate scientific content is preferred.
