Job Summary:

The Human Resources Manager, Operations will serve as a strategic business partner for our rapidly growing operations facility in Johnson City, TN. The HR Manager will work collaboratively with operations leadership to develop and deploy key initiatives within the manufacturing site, and corporate-wide as appropriate. This role will ensure that HR strategies align with the overall business objectives. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Operations and HR management, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. The role demands a proactive approach to problem-solving and a strong commitment to cultivating a positive workplace culture. Success in our manufacturing operations hinges on supporting and developing our most valuable asset - our people.

Reporting to: VP, People Business Partner

Location: Johnson City, TN (5 days/week onsite)

Responsibilities/Essential Duties:

Team Learning & Culture



  • Partner with operations leadership to develop strategies and solutions to ensure high employee engagement and organizational achievement.
  • Collaborate with leaders in HR and Total Rewards to design and implement strategic job structures, step plans, and job band to prepare the organization for improved efficiency, career progression, and workforce development.
  • Develop and implement mechanisms to collect and analyze multiple levels of employee feedback to gain insight from operation employees that are focused on key areas: Safety, Diversity, Teamwork, Character, Accountability, and Excellence.
  • Lead team learning and culture initiatives: drive employee engagement events, communication strategy/execution, roundtable discussions, employee committees, and mentorship programs. Foster a positive work culture and enhance employee satisfaction.
  • Cultivate, implement, and continuously enhance diversity and inclusion initiatives which includes creating outreach programs and training sessions to foster an inclusive workplace culture.
  • Assists operation leaders with developing and delivering key communications to engage employees.


Recruitment, Hiring, Onboarding, and Offboarding



  • Implement and continuously improve strategies to recruit, hire, and retain a diverse, values-driven team.
  • Consistently enhance the organization's onboarding processes, ensuring that new team members feel welcomed and supported from day one.
  • Manage and conduct offboarding process, including exit interviews; analyze data to surface areas for continuous organizational improvement.
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to establish and nurture community partnerships with local Chambers of Commerce and educational institutions to create a robust pipeline of future employees.
  • Assist in facilitating internship programs, career fairs and mentorship opportunities to attract and prepare potential candidates for future employment.
  • Monitor and analyze employee attrition rates to identify patterns and underlying causes, then develop and apply effective retention strategies to reduce turnover and improve employee satisfaction.


Human Resource Management



  • Guide and offer constructive feedback, ensuring leaders are held accountable for equitably seeking, retaining, developing, and optimizing the performance and engagement of their teams.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and resource for employees and managers, providing guidance and support on all HR-related matters.
  • Partner with senior leaders and their leadership teams to develop the talent strategy needed to support our tremendous growth and build a work environment where all employees can thrive and grow.
  • Act as approver for payroll processing activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Support structured change management initiatives to ensure smooth transitions, supporting ongoing organizational development as the company grows and faces the accompanying challenges.
  • Leads employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations and provides recommendations on actions or outcomes.
  • Conduct all work activities in compliance with Federal and State laws and Company safety policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Mentor and guide HR Representative to establish and implement a comprehensive succession plan.



Basic Qualifications:



  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or a related field and 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Must have significant experience in a high-pace, high volume manufacturing environment, supporting a diverse workforce. Prefer experience in a growth-oriented environment.
  • Must have excellent communication skills.



Preferred Qualifications:



  • This position will challenge the incumbent to learn and grow professionally, so the ideal candidate must be adaptable and demonstrate an eagerness to grow.
  • Previous experience in a multi-national organization is desired, but not required.
