Position Function
Provides leadership and strategic direction for the Office of Student Conduct, ensuring an educational student conduct process in accordance with the Code of Rights and Responsibilities. Serves as the University's Clery Compliance Officer, overseeing all aspects of Clery Act adherence and related compliance matters.
Minimum Education
Master's degree.
Minimum Experience
Five years of progressively responsible post-master's experience in student affairs, with a significant focus on student conduct administration.

Demonstrated experience interpreting and applying student conduct policies and procedures, as well as relevant federal and state laws (e.g., Title IX, Clery Act, FERPA).
Minimum Other
Proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively with students, faculty, and staff.
Authorization to work in the US Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Education
Doctorate in Higher Education, Student Affairs Administration, or a terminal degree such as a Juris Doctor (JD).
Preferred Experience
Substantial experience in developing and implementing student conduct programs and initiatives.
Demonstrated experience in conducting investigations and adjudicating complex student conduct cases, including Title IX matters.
Experience with Maxient or other student conduct management software.
Evidence of strong training and presentation skills.
Preferred Other
Pre-Employment Screening Requires successful completion of a background check and education verification.

Compliance:Serve as the Clery Compliance Officer, overseeing the university's compliance with the Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act, including the accurate and timely collection, analysis, and dissemination of campus crime statistics, education, and the development and implementation of campus security policies. This position also oversees compliance with other federal and state reporting, such as hazing.

Strategic Leadership and Administration: Provide leadership and strategic direction for the Office of Student Conduct, aligning its goals with the university's mission and values. Manage the daily operations of the office, including budget administration, policy development, and assessment of effectiveness.

Code of Student Rights and Responsibilities: Review, edit, and update the Code of Student Rights and Responsibilities on an annual basis, in collaboration with relevant stakeholders, to ensure clarity, and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Student Conduct Process Management: Develop, implement, and continuously evaluate a comprehensive student conduct system that is educational and developmental in its approach for student and student organizations. Ensure due process for all students and organizations involved in the conduct process.

Adjudication and Hearings: Adjudicate complex student and/or organization misconduct cases, conduct investigations as necessary, and serve as a hearing officer for Title IX/sexual misconduct cases.

Education and Training: Develop and implement educational programs and training for students, faculty, and staff on the student conduct process, the Code of Student Rights and Responsibilities, Clery, and related topics. Ensure appropriate training and supervision of University Hearing bodies.

Student and Crisis Support: In collaboration with the Dean of Students, provide guidance, support, and facilitate connections to appropriate university and community resources, ensuring a coordinated and comprehensive support network.
