Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure safe job practices and proper use of protective equipment.
- Investigate and document accidents and near-miss occurrences, identifying trends and implementing corrective measures.
- Develop and manage safety recognition programs and incentives.
- Provide safety training to new employees and chair the plant safety committee.
- Ensure proper training in First Aid and CPR, and manage inventory of safety-related products.
- Coordinate inspections and visits by safety and health regulatory agencies.
- Monitor the facility's hearing conservation program and develop alternative work duties for employees on medical restrictions.
- Maintain communication with management, corporate, and third-party vendors.
- Manage OSHA 300 log and other required documents, and maintain employee personnel records.
- Coordinate the use of temporary employees and manage the time & attendance system.
- Assist employees with paperwork related to benefits, disabilities, FMLA, pay, etc.
- Perform duties related to recruiting, screening, interviewing, hiring, orientation, and more.
- Process new hire paperwork and help with performance reviews and employment change forms.
- Prepare various reports and maintain files as required.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of Human Resources experience.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English.
- Qualified in First Aid and CPR, with knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and company safety policies.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English and Spanish.
- Preferred proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to follow specific instructions and directions.
- Basic math skills for business situations.
- Ability to maintain and safeguard confidential information.
- Strong verbal, written, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work shifts and hours mandated by management.
- Ability to work under immediate supervision and pass a drug test.
- Mobility in the work environment and ability to travel as required.
- Proficiency in using a computer and other office equipment.
