Supervises cardiac monitor technicians and maintains the clinical operations of the telemetry surveillance center, Video Monitoring Department, and Children's Hospital. Monitors staff performance and equipment/computer function; communicates status to nurse managers and nursing supervisors. Manages, coordinates, and evaluates all elements of financial, material and human resources in the provision of telemetry monitoring surveillance to assigned group of patients in accordance with the service and missions of the institution.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. Associate's Degree

2. Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.

3. Obtain Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT) Certification through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) preferred within one year of hire date.

EXPERIENCE:

1. One year experience of EKG interpretation skills.

2. One year supervisory or leadership role experience

1. Bachelor's degree

1. Manages personnel to ensure the availability of an appropriately credentialed, clinically competent, well-developed cohesive work force to meet patient care needs.

3. Assist in the implementation, monitoring and enforcement of policies, procedures and processes

4. Engages in fiscal activities in order to ensure the availability of supplies, equipment, and human resources to meet patient care needs in a timely cost effective manner.

5. Maintains effective communication with Medical staff, patients, staff and other departments as necessary to assure identification of problems and provide problem resolution in support of the hospital's mission of quality patient care delivery.

6. Assures the adherence of all standards and policies as set forth by WVUH and the accrediting bodies for the purposes of licensure, regulation and accreditation.

7. In conjunction with the Clinical Preceptor, facilitates the professional development of personnel.Oversees and participates in the orientation, training, and continuing education of the staff (departmental and interdepartmental) and other health related personnel.

8. Participates in outreach activities in the community, in order to educate and/or promote good relationships.

9. With director and manager, problem solving of practice, physician and patient service issues

10. Assist in annual performance review of technicians

11. Able to utilize or learn computer applications used in job such as Microsoft Office Epic, Net-learning, Ultimate, Strata Jazz and other software applications.

12. Provides on-going feedback to employees concerning job performance.Coaches and counsels employees, under the direction of the Director/Manager

13. Participates in unit and house-wide performance improvement initiatives

14. Functions as a staff role model by promoting cooperative problem solving, individual and group goal orientation, appropriate delegation of departmental activities and fostering team building through individual coaching and counseling, regular attendance at staff meetings, annual performance appraisals, and active participation in the activities of the department.
