Plate Shop Machinist

Fincantieri Marinette Marine, a Fincantieri Marine Group Company, is a progressive shipyard specializing in building ships for the United States Navy.

We are seeking a skilled Machinist to set up, operate, and maintain precision machine tools to manufacture metal parts according to exact specifications. The Machinist will be responsible for producing high-quality components, ensuring parts meet detailed measurements and tolerances, and maintaining equipment in safe working order.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the essential duties satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.

Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD designs.
• Set up and operate manual and/or CNC machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drill presses.
• Select appropriate tools, machine speeds, feeds, and cutting tools for each job.
• Measure and inspect finished products using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision instruments.
• Adjust machine settings to improve quality or efficiency as needed.
• Maintain equipment by cleaning, lubricating, and conducting minor repairs.
• Keep accurate production and inspection records.
• Follow safety procedures and wear required protective equipment.
• Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and other machinists to solve manufacturing problems.
