Job Description

As a Staff Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficiency and reliability of our extensive ATM network. This position will involve a range of critical responsibilities, including the design, development, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of our ESQ OperationsBridge solution. You will be entrusted with the task of crafting innovative solutions that leverage the OperationsBridge platform for real-time monitoring, incident management, and in-depth analysis, all aimed at enhancing the overall performance and operational capabilities of our ATM systems.

In this role, you will be expected to create robust and scalable solutions that address the evolving needs of our ATM network. Your expertise in designing, developing, and enhancing Rest API solutions will be crucial, as these interfaces are fundamental to the seamless integration and functionality of our systems. Additionally, a strong background in Configuration Management is essential. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining comprehensive configuration management plans, policies, and procedures, ensuring consistency, compliance, and optimal performance within the system.

Moreover, you should be capable of working effectively with cross-functional teams, bringing together diverse skill sets to achieve common objectives. A proven track record of handling development projects independently is a must, demonstrating your ability to manage and execute complex tasks with minimal supervision.

Prior experience working on banking products, such as Transaction Switching, including ISO8583/ISO20022 message protocols, Point of Sale (POS) systems, Automated Teller Machines (ATMs), and international networks like Visa International, MasterCard, Amex, JCB, and Discover, is essential. Your familiarity with these domains will be instrumental in understanding and addressing the specific challenges and requirements of our ATM network.

Additionally, the ideal candidate should have expertise in one or more of the following areas:

  • Software security for financial applications, including PA-DSS/PCI SSF, PCI DSS, vulnerability management, etc.
  • Test automation of applications with user interfaces (UI) and application programming interfaces (APIs).
  • Product upgrade/migration strategies, release impact analysis, and compatibility matrix.

Your role will be pivotal in driving the success of our ATM network operations, ensuring seamless and efficient functionality across all platforms.   • Design, develop, and troubleshoot Rest API solutions.
  • Develop and maintain configuration management plans, policies, and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance within the system.
  • Work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with Agile/SAFe practices.
  • Create systems and test documentation in accordance with organizational standards.
  • Ensure compliance with audit and security requirements for all activities.
  • Actively seek opportunities to evolve and improve existing standards and practices to enhance efficiency.
  • Assume responsibility for following up on identified defects to ensure they are resolved and validated.
  • Identify and troubleshoot system, integration, or operability issues in collaboration with other departments as needed.
  • Promote an organizational culture that supports high performance, high morale, integrity, and teamwork.
  • Work with business representatives, IT management, IT development, support teams, and vendors to ensure timely, on-budget, and high-quality deliverables.
  • Coordinate and collaborate effectively with our globally distributed team.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 8+ years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD

Robust knowledge of ESQ OperationsBridge, with proficiency in designing, developing, configuring, and maintaining the ESQ OperationsBridge solution.

Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems related to ESQ OperationsBridge.

Strong experience in working with REST APIs, including designing, developing, enhancing, and maintaining both old and new API applications.

Solid background in Configuration Management, with the ability to develop and maintain configuration management plans, policies, and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance within the system.

Proficiency in working with databases, including writing queries and stored procedures, and troubleshooting query performance issues.

Robust programming skills, with extensive experience in languages such as Java and JavaScript. Proficiency in writing efficient and maintainable code, debugging, and problem-solving within these languages. In-depth knowledge of the latest Java and JavaScript frameworks, libraries, and best practices is essential. Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms in the context of Java and JavaScript.

Ability to troubleshoot and debug issues related to code and infrastructure.

Strong understanding of various test and development methodologies such as TDD (Test-Driven Development) and BDD (Behavior-Driven Development).

Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, and Quality Assurance processes and methodologies.

Experience in creating QA-related documents like Test Plans and Test Findings

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems or Technology related field.

6 or more years of hands-on experience in building highly automated test frameworks.

General business knowledge of financial systems.

Good understanding and knowledge of Software Engineering Concepts and Methodologies is required.

6 plus years of strong technical experience with web applications and web services.

Experience in Browser testing.

Usability testing and Accessibility testing a plus.

Ability to write and execute SQL queries to validate data is required.

Tandem / Connex Advantage and/or Mainframe experience is a plus.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 117,700.00 to 170,600.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
