Compliance Associate - Global Due Diligence

The SEI Global Due Diligence Team is responsible for overseeing the compliance programs of third-party advisors and sub-advisors who manage SEI's investment products. These products include mutual funds, collective investment trusts (CITs), ETFs, managed accounts, and funds in other regions like Ireland and Canada. The Team ensures these advisors follow the necessary compliance rules and regulations, and they work with over 270 third-party advisors and sub-advisors who manage these investments.

The Team is dedicated to constantly improving how we do things, from strengthening our due diligence processes to increasing efficiency and improving reporting. We're looking for a motivated and results-driven compliance professional to help with these efforts and actively contribute to our ongoing improvements. This position will be based in Oaks, PA.

What you will do:

  • Perform compliance and operational due diligence reviews on SEI's sub-advisor and third-party advisor relationships. Due diligence activities include assessment of risks associated with governance, compliance, cybersecurity, business resiliency, portfolio operations and trading.
  • Document findings with a clear and concise summary of potential concerns and observations and work collaboratively with stakeholders to communicate risk items to ensure matters are rectified timely and in the best interest of shareholders.
  • Oversee the upkeep and accuracy of advisor and product information on the due diligence system.
  • Foster strong working relationship with external advisors as well as with internal units within SEI by communicating and coordinating information in a timely and effective manner.
  • Proactively gather, manage, and analyze data from multiple internal and external sources and coordinate data entry
  • Prepare external and internal reports for use and reliance across multiple business entities, including the use of data visualization.
  • Assist with the administration of the technology systems utilized by the Team
  • Support the Chief Compliance Officers and their respective compliance teams with their due diligence and reporting requirements through ongoing collaboration
  • Keep abreast of changes to laws and regulations affecting the products in multiple jurisdictions including the U.S., Ireland and Canada
  • Contribute to the continual improvement and development of team procedures

This position may require travel, for approximately 1-3 days each month, primarily in the U.S., to visit with and conduct due diligence on investment advisory firms or other service providersto SEI's investment complex. Many of these firms are top-tier organizations, providing the Compliance Associate exposure to industry best practices from leading experts in investment management.

Differentiators:

Experience or familiarity with one or more of the following areas:

  • Rule 38a-1 under the Investment Company Act of 1940
  • Rule 206(4)-7 under the Investment Advisers Act of 1940
  • Irish-domiciled UCITS
  • Canadian Mutual Funds
  • Collective Investment Trusts
  • Fund accounting / operations / audit
  • Internal control assessment
  • Investment and/or operational due diligence
  • Familiarity with technology systems utilized for portfolio management, research management, vendor management, project/workflow management, and/or compliance administration
  • Experience with data analysis and use of data visualization tools (i.e. Tableau, Power BI)
  • Advanced degrees or professional certifications
