Service Sales/Estimator
Position Identification: Non-Exempt Reports to: Service Manager Position Summary: We are seeking a motivated and experienced Service Sales/Estimator to join our team. This role focuses on selling to both new and existing clients, generating leads, and conducting site inspections to estimate roofing service needs. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing detailed scopes of work, estimating labor and materials, and delivering professional proposals. This position plays a key role in client relationship management and supports project execution from estimation through material ordering. Job Functions:
- Generate leads through cold calls, emails, networking, referrals, and door-to-door outreach
- Schedule and attend appointments with key decision-makers
- Build long-term client relationships based on trust and service excellence
- Conduct site inspections and prepare accurate scopes of work and estimates
- Prepare and present proposals tailored to client needs
- Develop estimates using field notes, blueprints, specifications, and site visits
- Maintain organized records of contacts, sales activities, and documentation
- Follow up with clients to ensure satisfaction and request referrals
- Manage ongoing projects, including ordering materials and coordinating with the service team
Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Essential):
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience estimating in the construction industry
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); familiarity with estimating software
- Ability to conduct take-offs and core cuts
- Comfortable working at heights and using ladders or aerial lifts
- Able to work in various weather conditions
Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Desirable):
- 4+ years of experience in construction sales, ideally in the roofing industry
- OSHA 30 certification
- Working knowledge of MS Project
- Familiarity with basic accounting principles

- Physically capable of climbing ladders/scaffolding, and navigating job sites

- Adhere to OSHA safety standards and company safety policies
- Identify, assess, and report safety risks and incidents promptly
- Participate in workplace health and safety initiatives
- Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Working Conditions: Physical surroundings: Office environment with typical office machines and exposure to noise and temperature. Physical Effort: Extensive sitting, standing, walking. Repetitive keying, typing. Occasional lifting not to exceed 25 pounds Travel: Occasional (3-4 times per year) Hours: 8 hours per day (Hours between 7:00 a.m. thru 5:00 p.m.)
