Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled AWS Data Engineer with 12 to 15 years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Python SQL queries AWS Cloud and AWS Glue. This hybrid role requires a deep understanding of cloud technologies and data management. The candidate will play a crucial role in driving technical excellence and innovation within the team.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of scalable and efficient cloud-based solutions using AWS Cloud and AWS Glue.
• Oversee the development and maintenance of Python applications ensuring high performance and responsiveness.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries to ensure efficient data retrieval and manipulation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define design and deliver new features and enhancements.
• Ensure the security and integrity of data within cloud environments adhering to best practices and compliance requirements.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain high code quality standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies integrating them into the teams workflow where applicable.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance reliability and scalability.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Manage project timelines and deliverables ensuring timely and successful completion of tasks.
• Document technical processes procedures and best practices for future reference and training purposes.

Qualifications

• Possess a strong background in Python development with a focus on building robust and scalable applications.
• Demonstrate expertise in writing and optimizing SQL queries for various database systems.
• Have hands-on experience with AWS Cloud services including but not limited to AWS Glue.
• Exhibit excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
• Show proficiency in leading and mentoring technical teams fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
• Display strong communication skills both written and verbal to effectively interact with team members and stakeholders.
• Hold a relevant certification such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified Developer.

The annual salary for this position is between $[125,000 - 138,000] depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
