Job Summary - Manager, Transplant Quality

Manages the operations, provides financial oversight and oversees quality functions of the transplant programs at Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital in collaboration with transplant leadership. Manages outpatient clinic daily operations as well as collaborates with other departments within the hospital. Oversees quality/data outcome management; creation of transplant program quality plan; regulatory required monitoring and reporting; developing, implementing and evaluating continuous quality improvement activities; assisting with managing department operating and capital budget; strategic planning for program development and growth; policy/procedure development and implementation; and direct supervision of transplant staff members.

Essential Functions - Manager, Transplant Quality

  • In conjunction with transplant leadership, provides high quality management of the kidney and liver transplant programs including operations, regulatory compliance and financial oversight and analysis.
  • Works collaboratively with all hospital departments. Directs and streamlines day-to-day transplant operations and quality initiatives including resource optimization, multidisciplinary personnel management, patient safety and satisfaction and performance improvement strategies while ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • In conjunction with the leadership team, coordinates operational activities of the transplant program including resource and supply management, development and adherence to policies/procedures and other regulatory requirements. Assist with developing mechanisms to obtain, monitor, and disseminate information on patient satisfaction, customer service, productivity, and employee satisfaction. Provide management oversight to transplant program staff.
  • Assists transplant leadership in monitoring the annual operating budget. Monitors trends and is continuously seeking cost effective strategies. Oversees and implements billing processes for inclusion and tracking of transplant portion of Medicare Cost Report costs; understands payor landscape and criteria for eligibility and maintenance of payor certification and accreditation for optimal patient access and referral.
  • In collaboration with the transplant team, implements and monitors the Transplant Quality Assessment and Process Improvement Plan; develops and maintains quality dashboards and scorecards to assess trends and address deviations; and ensures compliance with regulatory agency standards of registry participation.
  • Maintains knowledge and continuous monitoring/readiness of regulatory requirements to ensure CMS, UNOS, OPTN and Joint Commission standards compliance.
  • Conducts interview, hires, evaluates, and manages assigned transplant staff. Establishes and maintains open communication to enhance team effort.
Qualifications - Manager, Transplant Quality
  • Required Bachelor's Degree Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field
  • Preferred Master's Degree
  • 3 years of relevant experience supervisory / managerial experience Required
  • clinical experience Required
  • Experience working in an organization of size and complexity comparable to Corewell Health Required
  • Experience in solid organ transplantation Preferred
