IFF Radar Systems Support Technician
Position Summary:
As IFF Radar Systems Support Technician, you will assist Ship's Force and provide Onboard Maintenance Training (OBMT) to Ship's Force technicians in the operation, repair, maintenance, and logistics support of the assigned systems/equipment in Norfolk, VA. This is part of a future contract award expected in Q2 of 2025.
Clearance Requirement:
- Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Provide assessment status and operational checks of equipment and systems
- Identify and document system and/or equipment problems
- Correct and/or repair identified discrepancies and required corrective actions
- Identify and document design problems
- Identify and document logistic support deficiencies and recommend corrective actions
- Develop and provide on-the job training (OJT) to Ships Force personnel
- Verify configuration data and existing 2 Kilos for accuracy
- Develop test specifications
Required Education, Skills, and Experience:
- Must have a minimum of six (6) years' experience in installation, testing, troubleshooting, fault isolation and repair of combat or C4I systems and equipment
- Must have a minimum of three (3) years of hands-on experience (troubleshooting, inspection, and assessment support) on each of the systems listed below (experience may be concurrent).
- AN/SPS-49 Series Radar - All
- AN/SPS-48 Series Radar - All
- IFF Systems Support - All
- AN/SPN-XX JPALS Series Radar - All
- TACAN - AN/URN-25 / AN/URN-32
- Demonstrated working knowledge of Navy assessment programs, inspections, visit processes and reporting methods for visits.
- Demonstrated ability to use accepted current instrumentation for diagnosing equipment.
- Demonstrated ability interpreting ship's drawings, wiring diagrams and control schematics as required accomplishing assigned tasks.
- Demonstrated ability to utilize computers including the Microsoft Office Suite for compiling information for reports and history files, transfer digital pictures from camera to computer, enhance as required, and label them for report purposes.
- Demonstrated ability to interact and support other inspection teams such as but not limited to C5RA, CSPAT, TSRA, BMDRA, INSURV, ERAT
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally.
- Demonstrate an ability to interpret wiring diagrams, control schematics and plans and the ability as Subject Matter Expert (SME) to troubleshoot, analyze and provide distance support for listed equipment.

Physical Demands and Expectations:
- Regular physical activity to include walking, climbing stairs, and standing; frequent periods of prolonged sitting may be required.
- Ability to speak, read, hear, and write, with or without assistance.
- Ability to use phone and computer systems, copier, fax and other office equipment.
- Must be willing and able to travel up to 50 percent of the time.
