What will I do as the Volunteer Coordinator?

The goal of the volunteer program is to recruit, cultivate, and retain volunteers who assist and support Catholic Charities' mission and vision of serving the most vulnerable. Many of our programs are supported through the skills and talents of volunteers in our community, and they are essential to supporting Catholic Charities' outreach to our clients. This position will:

  • Facilitate the recruitment and placement of volunteers by fostering collaborative partnerships with Program Directors, local schools, and community organizations.
  • Collaborate with the Human Resources team to maintain a cohesive orientation, training, retention, and recognition strategy for all volunteers and interns.
  • Support the Agency's dynamic volunteer needs by cultivating relationships with volunteers and interns while continuing to grow the volunteer program.
  • Maintain database to track volunteer contributions and report volunteer hours.


Salary: $41,000 - $45,000 DOE

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or similar field
  • 1 to 2 years' experience in a recruiting role, working with volunteers, or similar community outreach experience.
  • Travel is required. Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and minimum liability insurance on vehicle are all required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; a team player with a passion for developing and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Able to tactfully address confidential matters efficiently and discretely.
