Partnering with the new FMX Futures Exchange, LCH Ltd have launched a new business line to clear US interest rate futures!

Currently SOFR STIRs are traded and cleared, but in Q1 2025, deliverable US Treasury futures will be launched. In this newly created role, based in New York, the Head of Listed Rates Run will be responsible for defining and overseeing all aspects of the support model for Listed Rates. The successful candidate will be an experienced professional who is has expertise in both cash and physically settled futures markets, ideally listed rates.

A key objective for this role will be to focus of the scaling of the business as the market grows from a process, people and technology perspective. The role will report functionally to the Global Head of Operations and locally to the Head of Rates Risk, North America.

Key responsibilities of the role:

  • Responsible for global run coverage model, ensuring that there is sufficient support and training in each region to support the full 'day in the life'.

  • Responsible for the Listed Rates control framework, ensuring implementation and execution of effective controls, control assurance and monitoring of KRIs.

  • Owner of the Joint Operating Procedures (JOPs) between LCH and FMX, ensuring they remain accurate and complete as the business grows, products are launched, or new risks emerge.

  • Owns the operational relationship with FMX, including the monitoring of both FMX and LCH's performance against SLAs and obligations set within the JOPs.

  • Responsible for management of incidents and critical issue to senior leadership team.

  • Partner with the LCH technology team to ensure the application support team coverage and performance is aligned to business requirements and objectives.

  • Collaborating with and inputting to the change programme, this role is responsible for business sign-off of new change requirements that impact the BAU operation.

  • Review the existing Listed Rates clearing model and use industry experience and expertise to suggest and lead design changes where appropriate.

  • Ensure operational processes, particularly those that impact customers, are fit for purpose from both a customer experience perspective as well as a control and resilience perspective.

  • Takes an innovative and forward-thinking approach to identify, manage and resolve customer issues and concerns.

  • During 2025 & 2026, the Listed Rates clearing platform is being migrated to a new application. The individual will be responsible for feeding in requirements to this programme to ensure operating processes and customer interfaces are upgraded as part of the transition.

  • Guides and develops colleagues within the team.

  • Reinforce the Listed Rates vision and drive inclusivity and collaboration across the team to achieve the goals and ambitions of this new business.

  • Becomes the subject matter expert on the Listed Rates end-to-end process flows at LCH.

Essential experience and skills required:

  • 5-10 years' experience working within the financial markets, with expertise in both cash and physically settled futures.

  • Strong knowledge of Listed Rates and front to back CCP operations would be preferential.

  • Proven success in a middle office or operations capacity, with the ability to implement robust processes.

  • Ability to identify customer needs and uncover opportunities to improve the customer experience.

  • Proactive and positive approach to identifying and mitigating operational risk.

  • Prior experience in management or team leadership roles.

  • Enthusiasm for coaching and developing talent.

  • Strong collaborator management with the ability to influence at a cross functional level.

  • Confidence to make decisions.

  • Strong problem-solving skills.

  • Analytical attitude to make decisions based on data and simplify complex problems.

  • Detail orientated and willing to deep dive into processes flows as required.

Compensation/Benefits Information:

LSEG is committed to offering competitive Compensation and Benefits. The anticipated base salary for this position is $153,900 - $256,500. Please be aware base salary ranges may vary by geographic location, city and state. In addition to our offered base salary, this role is eligible for our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP/"bonus plan"). Target AIP rates will be commensurate with role level and posted career stage. Individual salary will be reflective of job related knowledge, skills and equivalent experience. LSEG roles (excluding internships and part-time roles of less than 20 hours per week) are typically eligible for inclusion in our LSEG Benefits program, which includes offerings of: Annual Wellness Allowance, Paid time-off, Medical, Dental, Vision, Flex Spending & Health Savings Options, Prescription Drug plan, 401(K) Savings Plan and Company match.
