The Opportunity: The Medical Curriculum Program Manager at UCF College of Medicine is a role that involves significant decision-making, autonomy, and trust in designing, implementing, and expanding the program. This position oversees the longitudinal development of a Spanish-speaking Concordant Communication in Healthcare Program, ensuring alignment with institutional policies, accreditation standards, and evolving educational needs. The specialist plays a critical leadership role in shaping the program's structure, guiding curriculum development, and ensuring effective integration into the medical education framework. With a strong focus on strategic leadership and community engagement, this role involves fostering partnerships with community partners, language training organizations, and community-based initiatives to enhance student learning experiences. The specialist will collaborate with faculty, accrediting bodies, and external partners to create a sustainable and scalable program that meets both student needs and broader healthcare demands. Beyond the Spanish language program, this role may also support broader institutional initiatives and will help support all other programs in Academic Affairs as needed. Classification Title: Program Manager I Responsibilities:
Coordinate and schedule medical conversation sessions in Spanish with faculty and clinical partners. Organize and schedule standardized patient (SP) encounters in collaboration with the Clinical Skills and Simulation Center (CSSC). Liaise with the MedPACt Spanish Lunch Hour (SLH) program, ensuring effective student participation and feedback. Work with the registrar's office and faculty to ensure students are placed in appropriate blocks for the M4 electives. Oversee logistics for all medical program scheduling needs, including meeting/session coordination, space reservations, and technology support. Coordinate with Library Services to incorporate health informatics and language resources into the program. Ensure the program aligns with institutional policies and accreditation standards. Maintain and update course content, schedules, and student rosters in Webcourses (Canvas). Track student enrollment, monitor progress, and report grades through OASIS and the Registrar's Office. Collect and analyze program assessment data, ensuring compliance with academic and accreditation requirements. Coordinate with faculty and administration to develop policies and protocols for course implementation. Assist with developing and maintaining Spanish communication in the Healthcare handbook, faculty and student resource materials, and course policies. Prepare reports on program progress and outcomes for internal review and external accrediting bodies. Support all other programs in Academic Affairs as needed. Serve as the primary point of contact for students enrolled in the Healthcare Program. Provide guidance, scheduling support, and academic resources to students throughout the program. Send weekly announcements and reminders about key deadlines, sessions, and certification requirements. Facilitate student placement in the correct language level based on proficiency assessments. Ensure language concordant certification pathways are effectively communicated and executed. Design and teach sections in Spanish in the Healthcare Program, including the use of interpreters in medical settings. Support all other programs in Academic Affairs as needed. Support faculty members, including the Healthcare Program Director by managing course logistics and resources. Work closely with language training organizations and language-concordant certification providers to coordinate placement tests, coursework, and certification exams. Represent the program in community outreach and partnerships, ensuring alignment with Central Florida healthcare needs. Collaborate with clinical sites to facilitate student assignments to Spanish-speaking patient settings. Develop and sustain community partnerships to support language-concordant communication learning opportunities for students. Assist in expanding the Healthcare Program by identifying opportunities for additional courses and certification pathways. Develop long-term plans for increasing student participation and integrating the program into clinical education. Support grant writing, funding applications, and institutional reporting to secure financial sustainability for the program. Work with stakeholders to evaluate the impact of the program on student competency and patient care outcomes. Maintain the program's web presence, ensuring up-to-date content and resources for faculty and students. Participate in interdisciplinary and interprofessional collaborations, including external medical Language educators. Other duties as needed to include but not limited to timely completion of all university and college trainings and updates.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Exceptional organizational and time management skills with proven ability to manage competing priorities in fast-paced environments. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with specialized expertise in Teams for virtual collaboration. Extensive experience with Learning Management Systems, including Canvas (Webcourses@UCF) and KuraCloud. Experience with administrative platforms (Astra, PeopleSoft) is a plus. Prefer candidate with the ability to communicate in both English and Spanish in order to work effectively with students and team members.
Special Instructions to the Applicants: The anticipated salary range for this position is $58,030- $74,940.
