TechOps team excel in leveraging the scalability and flexibility of Cloud Infrastructure to rapidly respond to changing business needs, operate proactively, and deliver services at scale with high SLA.

The team's key mandate is to seek ways to enhance systems operations, with a focus on automation, maintaining pre-defined SLAs, and minimizing cost. The CloudOps team creates processes designed to measure system effectiveness and identify areas for improvement on the Cloud. They are also responsible for identifying, correcting, and enhancing important software tools and dashboards in the cloud environment.

CloudOps creates processes intended to monitor the cloud environment health and security, 24x7x365(on-call), within the set Cisco framework, as well as automated processes to provide information on current specifications. Cloud Operations stays abreast of new technologies in the field and provides recommendations to organizational management on new solutions. They also oversee the selection of orchestration tooling, as well as compliance audits and reporting.

What you'll Do

As a Site Reliability Engineer you will use an array of tools and integrations to deliver suite of foundational services pivotal to Cisco's essential business functions through GitOps. We are looking for an engineer who is proficient in DevOps and GitOps to helm a flexible and adaptable team of multi-skilled engineers responsible for maintaining Cisco Spaces FedRAMP environment. You will be responsible for operating, maintaining and enhancing all aspects of the FedRAMP Cloud and acting as point of contact for the Bangalore CloudOps team. The FedRAMP standards adhere to NIST 800-53 control policies and procedures, with regular self- and external-audits to verify compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Cisco Spaces FedRAMP GovCloud (hosted in AWS) environment
  • Ensure the quality, performance, robustness, and scalability of the services that are implemented, perform bug fixes and triaging issues
  • Collaborate with CloudOps Bangalore team
  • Evaluate OS, application level hotfixes, patches, release and deploy
  • Proactively engages and/or creates multi-functional teams to tackle problems or add business value
  • Generates ideas and/or technical strategies and presents them to peers, leaders for feedback
  • Influences others to support/implement ideas and/or technical strategies through collaboration with leaders and peers in the organization
  • Responsible for resolving and setting SLO's, creating adequate monitoring and logging for features so that SLO can successfully be measured
  • Ensure high availability and reliability of applications through proactive monitoring and timely resolution of issues.
  • Develop and implement automated scripts and tools for routine tasks to reduce the manual workload and improve system efficiency.
  • Possess a deep understanding of Linux OS internals such as kernel modules, file systems, and network stack to optimize system performance and troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Implement comprehensive monitoring solutions using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK Stack to track system performance and trigger alerts on anomalies.
  • Good working knowledge of http/https and configuring load balancing specifically AWS ELB HAProxy, domain and SSL certificate management.
  • Leverage cloud-native services to build and maintain resilient, scalable, and easily deployable applications.
  • Deploy and manage containerized applications using Kubernetes on AWS EKS to ensure scalable and reliable operations.
  • Design and implement CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, Git, GitLab to automate the build, test, and deployment processes.

When available, the salary range posted for this position reflects the projected hiring range for new hire, full-time salaries in U.S. and/or Canada locations, not including equity or benefits. For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. Hiring ranges for sales positions include base and incentive compensation target. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location and additional factors, including but not limited to skillset, experience, and relevant education, certifications, or training. Applicants may not be eligible for the full salary range based on their U.S. or Canada hiring location. U.S. employees have access to quality medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance and numerous wellbeing offerings. Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday, plus a day off for their birthday. Employees accrue up to 20 days of Paid Time Off (PTO) each year and have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues without tapping into their PTO. We offer additional paid time to volunteer and give back to the community. Employees are also able to purchase company stock through our Employee Stock Purchase Program.

Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:

.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;

1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;

1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.

For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
