We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to provide technical and programmatic support to the Tactical Airlift Program Office (PMA-207) at Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR). This position will support systems engineering functions across the program lifecycle for fixed-wing support aircraft, including platform upgrades, sustainment efforts, and integration of new capabilities. The ideal candidate will be familiar with military acquisition, aircraft system architectures, and integration of avionics, mission systems, and C4ISR capabilities. This role involves working closely with government engineers, OEMs, and other stakeholders to ensure effective and efficient program execution.


Duties:

  • Provide engineering and technical expertise in support of legacy and modified aircraft platforms, including C/KC-130, UC-12, and C-40 variants.
  • Support requirements analysis, system definition, trade studies, and interface development for aircraft subsystems.
  • Participate in technical reviews, risk assessments, and configuration control boards.
  • Contribute to acquisition documentation such as System Engineering Plans (SEP), Test and Evaluation Master Plans (TEMP), and performance specifications.
  • Assist with integration and verification of mission systems, avionics upgrades, and safety-critical components.
  • Coordinate with test teams for planning and execution of ground and flight testing.
  • Interface with fleet users, OEM representatives, and cross-functional IPTs to track progress, issues, and solutions.
  • Support logistics, cybersecurity, and airworthiness efforts as part of the systems engineering lifecycle.


Required Experience:

  • 12+ years of experience performing duties described in the functional description, three (3) of which must be directly related to naval systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in area of engineering expertise is required.
  • Familiarity with DoD acquisition processes and NAVAIR systems engineering policies.
  • Strong understanding of aircraft systems (avionics, propulsion, communications, navigation, etc.).
  • Proficient in requirements management and analysis tools.


Required Education:



  • May require a Master's degree and/or Ph.D.


Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Compensation at Precise Systems is determined by various factors, including education, experience, skills, competencies, and contract-specific requirements. The salary range for this position is $110,323.71-$165,485.57 (annualized USD). This range represents the standard pay for this role and is just one component of Precise Systems' total compensation package.
