Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Research Coordinator.
This position is based in the Institute for Systems genetics and Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is responsible for coordinating research studies conducted at NYU Langone Health. A core focus of this role will include enrolling pregnant individuals and coordinating associated study visits. The Research Coordinator will assist with recruitment, enrollment, grant submissions, data collection, and study coordination. The role may also involve administrative responsibilities supporting the study Principal Investigator (PI), including scheduling, documentation, and communication. The coordinator ensures research protocols are executed in compliance with Good Clinical Practices (GCP), HIPAA, and institutional standards. They will interface directly with patients/subjects and investigators and work under general supervision.
Job Responsibilities:
- Participant Enrollment (OBGYN Focus): Screen and enroll pregnant individuals for research participation, explain the study, obtain informed consent, and coordinate study visits during pregnancy and postpartum.
- Administrative Support for PI: Assist the Principal Investigator with administrative tasks related to study operations, including scheduling meetings, preparing reports or presentations, tracking timelines, and communication with collaborators and regulatory bodies.
- Study Regulations: Maintain current regulatory documentation. Support the informed consent process and ensure participant understanding and ongoing compliance.
- Clinical Competency: May include retinal scans, specimen handling, and other tasks based on in-house training.
- Continuous Learning: Participate in ongoing training and demonstrate annual proof of continuing research education.
- Reporting and Analysis: Compile and analyze data for internal and sponsor reports. Prepare preliminary reports and assist in database management.
- Grants: Assist with grant applications and related activities such as proposal writing, document preparation, and progress reporting.
- Budgets: Help draft study budgets and prepare funding reports.
- Human Subjects' Research: Submit and update documentation for IRB approval and maintain compliance with institutional research oversight.
- Research Activities: Abstract data from medical records, conduct study visits, maintain logs and databases, and assist with preliminary analysis.
- Recruitment: Identify and screen eligible participants using medical records, physician referrals, or advertisements. Schedule and conduct initial vists and confirm eligibility with the PI.
- Special Projects: Participate in additional projects and duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor's degree in life sciences, allied health or equivalent in a related discipline and 0-1 years experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Effective oral, written, communication, interpersonal skills. Must be able to work under the direction of supervision. Ability to operate research related equipment. Proficiency in using various Microsoft Office applications such as World, Excel, Access, Power Point and Outlook. Familiar with Internet applications. Ability to identify, analyze and solve problems. Time management skills and ability to work well under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of basic medical terminology is preferred. Prior experience working with Research Protocols. Experience working in an academic medical center environment.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $64,350.00 - $66,144.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
