Field Service Support Technician

Location: Boston - MA, USA (onsite)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Field Service Support Technician with a minimum of 5 to 8 years of experience to join our team. This hybrid role requires a proactive individual who can manage technical issues efficiently and ensure seamless service delivery.

Responsibilities

* Providing service and customer support during field visits. Managing all on site installation, repair, maintenance and test tasks. Diagnosing errors or technical problems and determining proper solutions.

* Perform customer support tasks.

* Technical working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems (Windows 10, Windows 11) Apple OSX, Office 365, and Microsoft Software (SharePoint, Teams, Visio).

* Experience with PC Hardware troubleshooting.

* Provide Install Move Add Change (IMAC), Break Fix and end user support activities as required.

* Stage Build and Image systems with standard client image (aka eCore).

* Experience with serial-based technologies (PLC's, scanners, printers).

* Complete special projects as requested by Customer.

* Provides technical training to more junior employees.

* Perform data collection/preservation activities as they relate to migrations and/or eDiscovery.

* Where required, provide support for the Manufacturing Shop Floor handhelds, laptops and scanner devices.

* Perform all on-site activities related to installation, repair, management and maintenance.

* Track and document the progression of the work.

* Perform troubleshooting.

* Identify all issues.

* Suggest and implement solutions.

* Operate vehicle in a safe manner.

* Check and update field automation systems and databases.

* Adhere to company's given rules and regulations.

* Team up with colleagues and other team members.

* Build relationships and trust with customers and clients.

* Great communication skills to work with customers.

* Amazing problem solving skills.

* A technical degree is preferable.

* Ability to diagnose problems with equipment.

* Great mechanical aptitude.

* Ability to communicate in English.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position [$37,804 to $ 74,000] is depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
