About the Role: We are looking for a multi-faceted IT Business Partner / Portfolio Manager to join our Specialty IT team. Since we are a small team, you will have the opportunity to own dual critical roles. As an IT Business Partner, you will act as a bridge between IT and business leaders, ensuring that technology initiatives align with business goals and deliver significant value. As the Specialty Portfolio Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the strategic alignment, planning, execution and reporting of a portfolio of IT projects and programs. This role will also be responsible for demand intake and governance as well as IT financial management (inclusive of SLAs).

This position will be located at one of our facilities in Elkton, Maryland, with the possibility of a hybrid remote work arrangement, depending upon the responsibilities of the role and business needs.

Pay and Benefits:



  • $150,000 - $190,000 per year
  • Roles above $150k are eligible for the variable pay program each fiscal year, based on defined business performance metrics.

Responsibilities:

Business Partner / Stakeholder Management



  • Partner with business leaders to assess strategic objectives for technology opportunities
  • Develop and present business cases to leadership to obtain support and/or funding for various digital business opportunities
  • Own Project Management of small to mid-sized, critical Specialty-IT project(s)
  • Present, educate and advocate the business on IT sourced projects (e.g.: innovation, security, infrastructure)
  • Champion innovative technologies and their potential use cases with the business for disruption as well as continuous improvement



Demand Management



  • Institute demand intake process across Specialty with process to quantify business value
  • Facilitate governance process to review and prioritize new project demands against IT capacity and strategic priorities



Portfolio Management



  • Define and own portfolio processes / capabilities
  • Ensure completion of stage gate reviews for all IT projects and programs
  • Gather and report metrics that describe the state of the IT portfolio health and financial health
  • Develop process for measuring benefits realization
  • Engage with IT & Business Leaders to assess IT project capacity and capabilities
  • Ensure the oversight and coordination of dependencies across portfolio initiatives and resolve or escalate conflicts



IT Finance Management



  • Support financial forecasting and performance reporting for the IT team
  • Periodically review software contracts and renewals to ensure Specialty interests are represented



IT Communications & Reporting



  • Ensure effective communication of project portfolio updates with IT & Business teams
  • Lead development and maintenance of communications, metrics, and reporting for IT processes and portfolio overall performance and the individual performance of initiatives to IT and business leadership teams and governance committee(s)

Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience owning IT projects and programs as a program or project manager
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an IT project manager with a focus on business application implementation for manufacturing, supply chain, quality, R&D, sales or marketing functions
  • Experience partnering and influencing senior level business leaders
  • Experience working with IT vendors, maintaining vendor relationships, and working with vendor support organizations to meet customer needs
  • Strong understanding of IT systems and project management methodologies
  • Solid understanding of IT financials, forecasts, expense and capital
  • Proficient understanding of IT KPIs, performance success measures
  • Skilled at negotiation, shifting options and achieving alignment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate and present technical information to non-technical audiences
  • Ability to travel 5%



Desired Qualifications:



  • Experience influencing business and IT leaders in critical, strategic decision making (e.g.: new technology platform selection, $5M+ IT project business case)
  • Experience engaging with a global program rollout exceeding 18 months or $25M in costs
  • Experience in a regulated industry (e.g: GxP, ISO)
