Continuous Improvement Intern

Essential Job Functions:

* Collaborate with the Director of Quality Systems and Continuous Improvement to implement CI strategies.

* Assist in selecting, prioritizing, and coordinating cross-functional improvement initiatives.

* Establish and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for project success.

* Support the improvement of Business Management System CI related content.

* Lead on-site implementation of 5S and visual management initiatives (e.g. SQCDME, Kanban,etc.)

* Contribute to training and coaching to develop and raise employee awareness and competence levels in continuous improvement, including training on effective tools for successful project leadership. * Promote the integration of continuous improvement tools into the business' activities. * Help in facilitating root cause analyses to identify and resolve process inefficiencies, as needed.

Required * LEAN or Six Sigma Certification from a recognized organization (such as AME or ASQ) - Green Belt as a minimum An asset * Hands-on experience with LEAN Manufacturing, Six Sigma and/ or Lean Six Sigma (LSS) principles, with a recognized external certification is a plus. * Hands-on experience if a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food industry is a plus. * Proficiency with Microsoft Projects and Cognos BI are plus. * Hands-on experience with LEAN Manufacturing, Six Sigma and/ or Lean Six Sigma (LSS) principles, with a recognized external certification is a plus. * Hands-on experience if a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food industry is a plus. * Proficiency with Microsoft Projects and Cognos BI are plus.
