This is a challenging role with serious impact. It's a fast paced, high-volume environment that requires you to work independently while maintaining a strong focus on company policies and guidelines. Your accuracy will be vitally important and monitored carefully to ensure our system is correctly coded and that all plan documents are precise.

They will be preparing back-end information for open enrollment. Analyst role within PA Capability under Jen McGonigle/Anne Mall responsible for maintaining business rules within the PAS application and PA supporting processes. This work directly influences client and member experience in PA. Requires critical thinking and problem solving using complex business rule functions. *METRICS* This position supports Prior Authorization.

This position is full time, Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work our normal business hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime particularly during peak (September - January) per business need.

The hours during training will be 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday - Friday. Training will be conducted virtually from your home.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Provide knowledge of business rule capability and configuration including HTML coding and other PAS logic.
  • Solve moderately complex problems within own area of expertise.
  • Provide information and explanation to others untrained in PAS capability.
  • Maintain familiarity with system enhancements delivered by IT specific to own area of expertise.
  • Knowledge of existing system capability to identify potential solutions specific to area of expertise.
  • Develop custom configuration for routine requests and maintain capabilities for both custom and standard experience.
  • Work on projects as assigned
  • Understand client set up and expectation as well as PA process to identify which rules should be invoked to trigger the requested change.
  • Understand end to end case flow to validate/test changes made, including functions/logic pertaining to flows up/down stream to the function changed.

Required Qualifications:



  • High School Diploma / GED or equivalent work experience
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Knowledge of claims processing systems, guidelines and processes
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, edit/create spreadsheets)
  • Ability to work full-time from 8:00am - 5:00pm including the ability to work occasional overtime particularly during peak (September - January) per business need.



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience with working in PAS (the Prior Authorization System)
  • Experience working as a business analyst



Telecommuting Requirements:



  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy.
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service.

The hourly range for this role is $23.70 to $46.35 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
