https://theatre.uark.edu/ Summary of Job Duties:The Department of Theatre in the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Arkansas, invites applications for a non-tenure track instructor of costume technology to start in August 2025. This is a standard nine-month faculty appointment.

This non-tenure track Instructor position will teach up to 2-3 classes per academic year. Teaching requirements include afternoon lab supervision, draping, and construction of costumes and crafts for theatre productions. Attendance at tech rehearsals is required. This position could entail duties to include teaching both survey classes and/or upper-level classes. This position offers opportunities to design for productions. The University is especially interested in candidates who can collaborate effectively and contribute to the excellence of the academic community. The initial appointment is for a period of one academic year. The opportunity for reappointment will be based on performance and continued need. For the annual renewal, candidates should provide at least one year of evaluations as instructor of record illustrating high quality teaching effectiveness.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

About the Department:
The Department of Theatre provides a professional training program dedicated to carefully nurturing a select group of theatre artists. Expert faculty members mentor students in classes as well as in one-to-one settings.   • Master of Fine Arts degree in Costume Technology or related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Terminal degree in Costumes Design and Technology or a related field

  • Demonstrated teaching experience in face-to-face and online format
