Job Summary

Essential Functions

• Assists physicians with examinations, procedures and other activities related to direct patient care. Fields and directs clinical telephone calls.

• Participates in the assessment of clinical staffing needs by maintaining a master work schedule, adjusting staffing levels and forecasting staffing needs.

• Develops and conducts orientation and in service training for clinical staff.

• Develops, implements and maintains emergency preparedness plan.

• Serves as chief liaison between the clinical staff and physicians.

• Assists with development and maintenance of quality improvement by reviewing incident reports, patient complaints and suggestions, current practices and actions taken. Develops and conducts programs for enhancing patient satisfaction.

• Monitors local, state and federal regulations affecting operations and assists with the development, implementation and monitoring of appropriate policies and procedures.

• Contacts vendors for repair or routine service of medical equipment.Forwards proposals/quotes to Office Supervisor for approval.

• Maintains adequate levels of medical supplies and pharmaceuticals.

• Responsible for adherence to DEA, DHEC and other regulatory agency policies and procedures for ordering, dispensing, storing and disposing of pharmaceuticals.

• Oversees physician's office schedule.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

• This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.

Minimum Requirements

• Education - High School diploma or equivalent OR post-high school diploma/highest degree earned

• Experience - Three (3) yearsof experience in clinical field of certification.

Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses

• Certification or licensure in one or more of the following: South Carolina LPN license, OR-Radio-logicTechnologist (ARRT), OR- Limited Practice Radiologic Technologist, OR- General, Medical Laboratory Technician, OR- Certified Surgical Technician
  OR- Registered Respiratory Technician, OR- Medical Assistant certification including: CMA (AAMA); RMA (AMT); CCMA(NHA); NCMA (NCCT); RMA (ARMA); NRCMA (NAHP); or RMA (AAMP)

• Certification must be maintained throughout employment in role. Human Resources may waive certification for incumbents who are unable to maintain certification due to their assignment within a physician practice setting.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Working knowledge of patient equip (Vitals, Suction, Defib)

• Working knowledge of clinical office equipment
