Overview

The Program Manager of Security Training & Education assesses security training needs, develops and oversees the delivery of the security training program, and develops strategies to further the goal of the physical security program through security training, education, and awareness initiatives throughout the system.


Qualifications

Certifications:

  • Firearm Owners Identification (FOID) and
  • Driver's License - Secretary of State (SOS) and
  • Certified Healthcare Security Supervisor (CHSS)

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree or
  • Experience In Lieu of Education

Work Experience:

  • Security leadership - 3 years

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the design and implementation of the security training program to include classroom, self-studies, computer-based, and web-based training.
  • Coordinates initial and refresher knowledge and skills training to security staff on organizational expectation for the delivery of security and protection of personnel, property and assets against fire, theft, vandalism, terrorism, and all illegal and unauthorized activity.
  • Provides reports to senior security leadership on training conducted, performance of personnel, and effectiveness of training.
  • Offers recommendations for improving the training curriculum.
  • Evaluates the performance of security staff in the field as it relates to the adherence to training protocols and department policies and procedures during real world situations.
  • Conducts training needs assessments through review and analysis of training programs, assessment of the security operation, and interviews with stakeholders.
  • Monitors the threat environment, developments in training delivery, and research regarding adult training programs to identify strategies for maximizing the effectiveness and efficiency of the security-training program.
  • Contributes to the review, maintenance, and updating of department policies and procedures.
  • Provides general and specialized security awareness instruction to non-security team members including the organization's security policies and procedures during new employee orientation, refresher training, and other times and outlined in the security awareness training program.
  • Acts as a resource and answers questions for security personnel and general staff on security issues.
  • Conducts awareness or educational meetings with select personnel/departments as needed
  • Enhance safety and security of the working environment.
  • Communicate security information to general staff, security personnel and managers.
  • Oversees information on the security website and develops strategies to maximize
  • Ability to encourage general staff compliance with security policies and procedures.
  • Monitors the training program
  • Ensure security staff competency in all aspects of their job responsibilities.
  • Coordinates training schedules
  • Compiles records relating to the delivery of training, including attendance records, measured performance of security staff during training and the effectiveness of the training.
  • Investigates use of force incidents, as assigned
  • Ensure consistency with policy, procedures and department training.
  • Manages, provides coaching, and assesses performance of security field training officer staff.
  • Directs personnel and provides assistance as needed.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $32.48per hour - $55.87per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
