Statement of Purpose

Lead and implement Business Operations Department strategy and strategic initiatives in support of the overarching NIB strategic plan.

The Program Director is also responsible for directing, coordinating, and overseeing the Business Operations Department cross-functional support for all projects that require alignment with Program Compliance, Administration and NIB senior leadership.

This position also provides operational, administrative, and special project support for the Senior Vice President Business Operations, Vice President Operations, Vice President Channel Management, Senior Director Services, Senior Director Ecommerce and Director Business Development. Acts as a point of contact or gatekeeper between NIB senior leadership.

Responsibility for Work of Others

None directly but will lead significant strategic efforts throughout Business Operations and NIB. To include initiatives with sole focus on NIB's overarching strategic plan.

Supervision Required

Coordinates closely with other NIB departments, especially the Vice Presidents, Senior Directors & Directors, to execute and lead all assigned tasks to completion. Receives overall direction and guidance from Senior Vice President , Business Operations.



Education

Bachelor's Degree in a business discipline from an accredited university or college or equivalent work experience.



Training and Specialized Knowledge

  • Knowledge of all areas of Operations (Business Development, Channel Management, Products and Services, Rehab and Product Engineering, Base Supply Centers, Operations Support and Military Resale); knowledge of all NIB product and service lines; knowledge of AbilityOne and NIB policies, processes and procedures; and knowledge of Federal acquisition and procurement channels and programs.
  • Highly developed critical thinking / analysis skills; ability to recommend multiple courses of action.
  • Robust organizational, problem-solving and computer skills with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, SharePoint, and Salesforce.
  • Strong communication / collaboration skills.
  • Extensive experience in project management.
  • Strong skills in strategic planning, research, and communications.
  • Team player / people oriented. Ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships across business areas.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

Operations Strategy



  • Liaison with the Senior Vice President Business Operations on all matters of NIB and Business Operations Strategy and Strategic Initiatives.
  • Oversee the design, development, and implementation of the departmental dashboards and their associated reporting formats (briefings, meetings, etc.).
  • Direct and implement the Business Operations Strategy ensuring it is properly aligned with the overall NIB Strategic Plan.
  • Monitor Business Operations Department goal achievement.
  • Lead the development and preparation of Business Operations briefs for NIB Board presentations.


  • Execute special projects which may require research, data collection and analysis. Complete special assignments by establishing objectives, determining priorities, managing time, gaining cooperation from others, monitoring progress, problem-solving and making adjust to plans.



Strategic Initiatives



  • Lead, develop and incubate departmental strategic initiatives focused on achieving all operations goals of the NIB strategic plan.
  • When appropriate, transition all strategic initiatives reaching sustainment to the parent Directorate within Operations.
  • Work across Directorates within Operations to lead and execute projects as directed.



Cooperative Agreement



  • Cooperative Agreement Lead for Business Operations Department.
  • Liaison between Business Operations and other NIB departments on all strategy and cooperative agreement projects/issues/tasks.
  • Conduct initial triage on tasks to the Business Operations Department; make assignment recommendations on incoming tasks from the Commission Staff.



Operational Duties



  • Conduct initial triage of NPA reported sales issues and track to successful completion.
  • Provide role as central point of contact for NIB NPA requests for support.
  • Serve as the Business Process Operations Council liaison to the continuous process improvement program office.
  • Monitor upcoming deadlines, following up with the appropriate stakeholder to ensure timely completion.
  • Monitor and track NPA engagement to foster enhanced relationships and awareness.
  • Provide logistical and administrative support for all Business Operations meetings, to include direct reports meetings, staff meetings, retreats and NPA in-person meetings.
