Job Summary

Corewell Health is seeking a Senior Director, Chief of Staff to serve as a force multiplier for the President & CEO. This leader will amplify effectiveness by leading, scaling, challenging, and driving strategy and operational excellence. Streamline time, information, communication, decision-making more effectively to enable the success of the CEO and the organization. The organizational goals are key responsibilities of this leader. The Senior Director, Chief of Staff works with the CEO to prioritize their time most strategically, anticipating what is ahead to ensure the CEO is advised and prepared. This leader's strategic mindset and critical thinking skills will establish them as a credible and influential leader within the organization. Collaborating with the CEO, their executive support team and system leadership team, this leader will successfully drive organizational strategies, build a best-in-class executive office, and foster a culture of wellbeing, belonging and fun.

Key Role Functions and Responsibilities

  • Provides strategic counsel to key leaders in the organization and serves as an advisor to the CEO. Partners with CEO to prioritize their time most strategically, attends meetings in place of the CEO as necessary and represents the CEO with internal and external stakeholders. Assess all inquiries directed to the CEO and determine prioritization and proper course of action. Ability to be flexible and adaptable and is extremely organized.

  • Works closely with the System Leadership Team (SLT) and is an integrator connecting different work streams that would otherwise remain siloed and is constantly looking for ways to make work simpler. Acts as a communicator linking the leadership team and the broader organization.

  • Review, interpret, and analyze data to provide input and assist the CEO and other senior leaders in their decision-making. Improves current processes and coordinates organizational procedures for optimized efficiency and productivity. Monitors information flow, ensuring the CEO's involvement in a project or decision-making process at the appropriate time.

  • Influences and impacts teams with the ability to rapidly gain and build trust and confidence of internal and external stakeholders. Effectively communicates across all levels inside and outside of the organization.

  • Partners with the SLT Strategy and Operations leaders to ensure timely communication and coordination occurs between all functional areas and the CEO's office.

Candidate Qualifications

Education:

  • Required: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent

  • Preferred: Master's Degree or equivalent in business administration or an advanced degree

Experience:

Required

  • Five yearsof relevant experience in business or executive management role

  • Experience working as part of an executive team

  • Experience with board of directors and board committees

  • Experience driving cross-functional projects independently and collaboratively

  • Demonstrated experience effectively managing large and complex projects
