PRN Emergency Medicine Physician- Fairmont

West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Emergency Medicine seek a PRN Emergency Medicine physician (MD or DO) qualified for appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank. The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Fairmont, WV at Fairmont Medical Center.

Depending on operational needs, a successful candidate may also be assigned to provide services at additional worksites in West Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. In such instances, travel would be anticipated and expected to fulfill said duties at these additional sites.

Duties: The successful candidate will practice in the area of emergency medicine. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.

Qualifications: Candidate must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state medical license. Successful candidate must have completed an emergency medicine residency program, and/or an emergency medicine fellowship program for internal medical and/or family medicine board certified physicians. Successful candidates must be ABEM board certified, eligible in WV. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.

Fairmont, WV is located 30 minutes outside of Morgantown, WV- home to Ruby Memorial Hospital, WVUM's level 1 trauma center. Fairmont Medical Center is home to a full-service emergency department, open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, staffed by board-certified physicians and equipped with lab and imaging services. We provide acute care for adult and pediatric patients with any cardiac, respiratory, trauma, or general medicine issues.
