We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to manage our Accounts Payables and Accounts Receivables with precision and efficiency. In this role, you will assist with credit functions, general ledger/account reconciliation items, and contribute to special projects as needed.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Review and entry of Mill supplier and miscellaneous invoices
  • Work with purchasing manager to resolve any mill invoicing issues
  • Prepare daily cash and credit card deposits
  • Apply lock-box receipts, ACH receipts and credit card deposits
  • Review, match, and investigate credit card invoices and receipts
  • Research and process customer claims, charge backs, returns, and bad checks
  • Work, file, and scan sensitive and confidential documentation
  • Assist with new customer credit process
  • All other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred, preferably in accounting, finance, mathematics, or economics
  • 2-4 years of experience in accounting or fields related to this role, experience working in manufacturing is a plus
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; and speak effectively before customers, suppliers, and employees
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Ability to anticipate and solve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
