As the EMS Data Manager at GMR, you will lead a team that will be the liaisons and advocate between GMR and our customers to define national, state, and business unit level NEMSIS reporting requirements. We must ensure that our patient charting products satisfy all reporting requirements, which is mission-critical to our company's success. You will need a strong understanding of the large variation of our customers' requirements and implementation timelines and maintain essential communication with our customers, vendors and GMR teams. Additionally, it is required to be comfortable asking questions and pushing back when results will not likely meet customer requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with government agencies, vendors, and internal teams to achieve high-quality data sharing success.
  • Frequently monitor data flow between GMR and our customers to confirm high-level success rates or investigate and identify improvements that are needed.
  • Communicate and work closely with internal teams regarding upcoming schema changes.
  • When a data flow issue is discovered, help identify the data issue and then work with GMR's IT support team to get an appropriate fix in place within a reasonable time frame.
  • Work with GMR's IT support team to integrate ePCR data with other available data sources, as needed, to meet our customers' needs.
  • Collaborate with our ePCR business team to help define changes that are needed to the product to allow GMR to comply with NEMSIS guidelines and contractual requirements.
  • Perform product testing to identify issues and to verify that changes have been implemented as expected.
  • Support testing and product launch activities for the ePCR business team.
  • Gather customer and market input related to NEMSIS requirements in GMR's products.
  • Ensure thorough and accurate documentation of all schematron configurations for every business unit and update after any changes have been made.
  • Represent GMR and our customers at NEMSIS meetings, events, and updates. You'll be GMR's primary contact for state and regional data systems, vendors, and data managers. Participate in the review and feedback process for changes and new versions of the standards, which will mean that you'll engage in NEMSIS TAC webinars, phone calls, conferences, and planning meetings.
  • You will proactively engage with State Data Managers to understand and refine schematron files to ensure that they will work with GMR's Patient Charting products.
  • Ensure all data management practices comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including HIPAA.
  • Work with the GMR teams to conduct comprehensive data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can improve EMS services and patient outcomes.
  • Determine relative priorities of competing projects for GMR's IT support team and communicate appropriate time estimates with our customers to help set appropriate expectations.
  • Help develop and present detailed reports and dashboards for internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies.
  • Review RFPs to identify specific state data reporting requirements and ensure that GMR can comply.
  • Act as the hub for GMR teams that interact and utilize the GMR electronic patient care reports.
  • Lead and manage a diverse, geographically dispersed team, ensuring effective communication, collaboration, and productivity across different time zones.
  • Foster a positive team culture, promote professional development, and support team members' growth through training and mentorship.
