Job Description

Dr. Paul de Figueiredo's lab is seeking a highly motivated Research Specialist to contribute to our research endeavors, with a primary focus on experiments related to Microbe-influenced corrosion.

Responsibilities:

Adherence to Protocols and Safety Guidelines:
- Follow established laboratory protocols and safety guidelines rigorously.
- Maintain a safe and compliant work environment.

Precise Record Keeping and Data Management:
- Pay meticulous attention to detail.
- Maintain accurate records and manage data effectively.
- Keep detailed and organized laboratory notebooks.

Collaboration and Independence:
- Work both independently and collaboratively with other lab members.
- Provide assistance and training to fellow researchers as needed.

Laboratory Techniques:
- Prepare reagents for experiments.
- Perform molecular biology techniques, including but not limited to DNA extraction, PCR, Rt-PCR, and gel electrophoresis.
- Cultivate and maintain bacterial cultures.

Shift

Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. along with some nights and weekends

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Hiring Salary: $16.72 - $20.00 per hour
Grade: GGS 007
