Role Summary:
Reporting to the Fabrication Manager, the Welder II is responsible for supporting the materials management function of the fabrication department. Welders are essential to the overall operation of the business. While specific daily tasks can vary depending on the current workload, a Welders main responsibility is welding, cutting, threading, grooving, testing, and bundling pipe and fittings to meet customer's specifications.
Exciting work you will do:
The essential duties and responsibilities of the Welder II position will consist of, but are not limited to performing all the functions of a Welder and the following:
- Programming, set-up and running of various welding machines
- Complex welding of flanged headers, spool pieces, and occasional butt welds
- Operation of robotic welders and setting up weld/cut parameters
- Complex measurements, including angles, and reading/reproducing images from diagrams
- Interpret welding procedure specifications
- Manufacture product that meets customer requirements and expectations. Inspect and verify work before submitting for inspection
- Work as a team member to aid others in encouraging and maintaining departmental standards including quality and on-time delivery goals
- Record and track daily operations
- Product quality testing through pressure and/or chemical testing
- Painting product
- Sandblasting if required by location
- Material layout by customer measurements/specifications
- Read job prints
- Maintain quality and quantity performance and production standards
- Must learn how to operate warehouse equipment including forklifts, hand trucks, crane, etc.
- Participate in ongoing general housekeeping of the shop
- Check assigned equipment for proper operation/functionality and communicate problems to Warehouse Manager
- Follow safe work habits and established safety procedures
- Participate in safety initiatives as assigned
- Safely operate additional warehouse equipment
- Attend meetings and training sessions
- Other welding/fabrication tasks as assigned

What you'll need:
- Work Experience: 4 years of welding experience
- Education: High School Diploma or GED
- Analytics/Computer Skills: Ability to use standard office equipment, including but not limited to computerized bar code scanner, printer, and standard warehouse equipment/tools/machines/vehicles. Basic math and reasoning skills.
- Organization Skills: Excellent work ethic, good verbal, and communication skills. Ability to work independently.
- Cross-functional skills: Ability to work effectively in a team environment and through the direction of a Fabrication Manager
- Communication Skills: Ability to communicate well with all levels of the organization. Know when to request assistance when appropriate, especially when lifting heavy objects.

- Ability to frequently lift/move up to 50lbs.
- Ability to stand/walk/lift, pull, and push during entire work shift.
- Physical Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to temperature conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment is consistent with that of a fabrication shop/distribution center.
Qualifications we prefer but don't require:
- Work Experience: 5 years prior welding experience preferred
- Certification: Certification in the operation of a forklift truck is not necessary but would be considered a plus
