Description

Vedder Price's Chicago office is looking for a Recruiting Assistant. The Recruiting Assistant is responsible for assisting with all aspects of the administrative staff recruiting efforts in each of the firm's offices.

As a Recruiting Assistant, your duties will include but not be limited to:



  • Assists during each phase of the full-cycle recruiting process for all staff hires from initial sourcing to offer stage
  • Assists with job description maintenance and ensures open positions are posted to various job boards, professional organizations and/or schools' career centers
  • Ensures that open positions are appropriately advertised meeting OFCCP compliance standards
  • Updates and maintains the recruitment and applicant tracking gateway (UKG)
  • Sources candidates with desired competencies and skill sets for all open requisitions
  • Identifies passive candidates and maintains a strong pipeline for future openings
  • Performs initial phone screens for assigned positions, and presents top candidates to hiring managers
  • Handles interview scheduling for assigned positions
  • Successfully completes reference checks for assigned staff positions
  • Assists with offer letter drafting
  • Assists with background checks as needed
  • Responsible for publishing the daily staff memo
  • Assists with verifications of employment
  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with attention to detail
  • Exemplary interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate and interface effectively and courteously with employees of all levels within the organization
  • Ability to handle sensitive and/or confidential matters
  • Ability to work effectively with limited supervision and/or in a team environment
  • Ability to handle multiple projects with shifting priorities
  • Flexibility to adjust hours to meet operating needs


Qualifications & Required Experience:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Organizational Psychology or the equivalent in work experience preferred
  • Human Resources internship or applicable experience desired


Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in the following software:



  • Minimum intermediate level of proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook)
  • Working knowledge of Applicant Tracking Software a must; experience with UKG Recruiting preferable


Compensation Range: 50,000/yr. to $58,000/yr.
