Description

Mazak Corporation is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join the Sales Engineering team at our National Technology Center located in Florence, KY. The Mechanical Design Engineer will work with the engineering group to manage and coordinate project activities, support existing product offerings, and perform testing and analysis to define, troubleshoot and improve product specifications. Evaluating potential application of future technologies while keeping abreast of competitive product offerings is critical.

Scope and Responsibilities:
Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following:
* Proactively attains a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.
* Support assigned machine groups for customer option purchase, design and support through installation
* Work directly with Marketing, Purchasing, Production, Sales and Executive Management to develop industry leading machine tool solutions; research competitor products to ensure and maintain market leadership.
* Plan, conceptualize, and create designs for existing and new products
* Ability to assemble Options as needed for development, customer visit, etc
* Develop testing processes and perform testing and validation of new designs.
* Ability to apply critical thinking and problem-solving techniques to evaluate complex information.
* Use a range of numerical and mathematical skills to aid analysis and troubleshooting.
* Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, and work with vendors and contractors.
* Provide detailed documentation to track project development and design process.
* Record and evaluate testing data, confirm designs meet all safety, performance, and efficiency standards.
* Ensure optimal application of technology and engineering resources to meet/exceed customer requirements and expectations.
* Ensure projects are completed on time and according to schedule, project management experience.
* Work proactively to promote teamwork at all levels.
* Additional tasks and special projects as assigned.
Education/Certification:
* BSME in Mechanical Engineering desired, MSME preferred.
Experience:
* Potential of demonstrating incremental technical and project responsibilities in a fast-paced, highly technical manufacturing environment; machine tool product development preferred.
