This hands-on, high-impact role will lead the development and maintenance of precise 2D drawings and 3D models across KLA's global portfolio of cleanrooms, labs, data centers, and manufacturing facilities.

Based in Milpitas, CA, the Global CAD & BIM Engineer will ensure all infrastructure models and drawings are current, accurate, and aligned with company standards. This role will also drive contractor deliverable requirements, support project execution, and enable digital twin integration to elevate how we plan, build, and manage our facilities worldwide.

What You'll Do
  • Create, revise, and manage models and CAD drawings for building systems, infrastructure, and process utilities.

  • Develop and enforce global CAD and BIM standards, templates, and documentation practices across KLA projects and teams.

  • Lead the integration of contractor-provided models and ensure conformance with project requirements, naming conventions, and level-of-detail (LOD).

  • Support the creation and validation of accurate as-built models using field verification methods, point cloud scans, and engineering markups.

  • Coordinate with design consultants, project managers, and facilities teams to resolve design conflicts and ensure accurate system representation.

  • Enable the development of digital twins by ensuring model accuracy and metadata completeness for future simulation and monitoring use.

  • Support internal project teams by providing drawing packages, space planning diagrams, and model overlays to aid in design and decision-making.

  • Establish workflows for drawing/model version control and coordinate model data with CAFM, IWMS, and document management systems.

  • Participate in model-based coordination meetings to detect clashes, optimize space usage, and validate design feasibility.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with point cloud scans, model validation workflows, and LOD requirements.

  • Familiarity with digital twin strategies and integrating models into BMS or asset management platforms.

  • Experience working in high-tech, semiconductor, or life sciences environments.

  • Proficiency in Navisworks or similar tools for clash detection and coordination.

Travel
  • Occasional travel (up to 15%) to global KLA sites for site walks, model validation, and project support.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, construction technology, or a related discipline

  • Five (5) years of hands-on experience with Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM coordination in a facilities, construction, or engineering environment

  • Strong understanding of infrastructure and MEP systems, especially those supporting cleanrooms, labs, and technical facilities

  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, P&IDs, and field sketches to develop accurate models

  • Proven experience developing and managing standards, templates, and model coordination workflows
