Title: Light Industrial - Machinist 2 Duration: 12+ Months Pay Rate: $30- $35/hr. on W2 without benefits Shift Timing (Day/ Evening/ Night): 2nd 2.00- 11.00pm Job Description: Sets up and operates a variety of machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, planers, and precision grinders to make metal parts, mechanisms, tools, or machines to exacting tolerances and dimensions. Interprets blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications Determines sequence of operations, number of cuts required, and method of setup; Uses a variety of machinist hand tools and precision measuring instruments; Makes standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, feeds, and speeds; measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points to Client out stock for machining; fits and assembles precision parts into mechanical equipment and determines material, parts, and equipment required. Some machines may be numerically controlled. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. Typically requires completion of a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience. Must have experience reading and understanding drawings. Minimum of 5 years experience. Basic Qualifications for Machinist 2: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience operating CNC machines in an industrial manufacturing setting. Strong understanding of machining techniques and materials. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Good communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications for Machinist 2 Experience with reading and writing CNC programs. Experience with wire EDM. Experience with GD&T.
