Job Summary:

The Hard Surface Turret lift truck operator is responsible for all material movements within the OD Hard Surface Dist. department. He/she ensures that the material needed for Hard Surface are staged, relocated, and assembled appropriately to maintain continuous production within the department.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:



  • Follow all company policies and safety procedures, as well as OSHA standards to promote a safe working environment
  • Safely operate a Turret lift truck to carry large containers/pallets of materials throughout the facility
  • Pick up and move pallets (cages/boxes) from staging locations
  • Use AS400 and paper to record production and staging in the department
  • Store Hard Surface material in the correct area of the warehouse
  • Unload and reload Hard Surface material into the bins, RF scanning required
  • Pull Hard Surface material for shipment
  • Communicate with leadership and co-workers
  • Perform and complete the daily Turret Lift Truck Inspection form at the beginning of each shift
  • Maintain condition of equipment responsibilities on Turret Lift Truck (using air compressor/utility knife)
  • Perform housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe work environment


  • Inspect equipment for wear and conformance to asset condition expectations
  • Communicate with management, supervisors, and mechanics regarding mechanical/safety issues
  • 100% Compliance with all safety procedures
  • Complete all other duties as assigned by management


Performance Expectations (if applicable):



  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. frequently and up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with a wide range of temperatures
  • Must be able to continually move from sitting position to standing position throughout a 12-hour shift
  • This position requires bending, twisting, stooping, reaching, and walking
  • Ability to work around heavy industrial equipment and confined spaces
  • Must have the ability to physically demonstrate proper techniques for training team members


Experience/Education Requirements:



  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Previous lift truck experience preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Must be able to pass company Lift Truck training
  • Lift truck certified preferred

  • Operation Monitoring - Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure the equipment is working properly.

  • Equipment Maintenance - Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
  • Time Management - Managing one's own time and the time of others.
  • Control Precision - The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions.
  • Multilimb Coordination - The ability to coordinate two or more limbs (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while sitting, standing, or lying down. It does not involve performing the activities while the whole body is in motion.
  • Response Orientation - The ability to choose quickly between two or more movements in response to two or more different signals (lights, sounds, pictures). It includes the speed with which the correct response is started with the hand, foot, or other body parts.
  • Far Vision - The ability to see details at a distance.
  • Manual Dexterity - The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
  • Non-Acrophobic- Cannot be afraid of heights (above C-level bins)
