The Adult Crisis Stabilization Center, a new program within the Johnson County Mental Health Center is pleased to announce the opening of Adult Crisis Stabilization Clinician (Clinician II). This position requires an applicant to be credentialed with the BSRB with a Master's Degree in Social Work, Professional Counseling, or Psychology. This position is responsible for a variety of functions to help support this 24-hour facility providing residential stabilization services for adult clients. This position will conduct brief solution-focused crisis interventions, individual client assessments, and treatment plan development. This position will also work closely with internal and external referring and treatment entities to remediate client barriers related to mental health crises and substance use. This position will also facilitate discharge planning, which includes recommendations for post-discharge treatment services. This posting will remain open until filled.

Johnson County has implemented a skill-based pay plan of up to $4200 annually for staff who have obtained licensure by the BSRB at the Clinical Level.



Job Description

This position:

* Conducts clinical interventions and assessments to facilitate crisis stabilization and admission processes, as well as reviews ongoing provision of services; identifies individual needs and diagnoses mental health and/or substance use disorders; assesses individual risk for suicide and other safety related concerns; determines the need for medication evaluation and referral; interprets and communicates relevant information to residential direct care and nursing staff, individuals, families, and other stakeholders.
* Provides brief solution-focused crisis interventions within a trauma-informed framework; ensures services provided are consistent with the individual's self-determination; liaisons with internal and external providers to facilitate stabilization; reviews/updates diagnoses and makes appropriate recommendations/referrals for continuity of care in the individual's home community.
* Completes and submits clinical documentation, regarding services provided, within 24-hrs; evaluates and documents individuals' progress according to measurable goals; reviews and approves documentation and plans of care developed by other staff to ensure services are consistent with the level of care required for each individual's needs; monitors the quality and effectiveness of services provided.



Job Requirements

Minimum Job Requirements:

Master's degree in Social Work (LMSW), Counseling (LPC), or Psychology (LMLP), and Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board (KSBSRB) licensure, as well as KSBSRB licensure (LMAC) or equivalent experience in Addiction Counseling*.

*Applicants who meet Kansas licensure requirements may be considered if Kansas licensure is obtained by time of an employment offer and licensure is pending confirmation at the time of employment application.

Johnson County Government requires reference/background screening for all positions. Specified criteria may vary by Department/Agency.

Preferred Job Requirements:

Kansas Behavioral Sciences license at the clinical level and one year of experience in the area of focus is preferred.

Physical, Environmental, and Special Working Conditions:

All County employees may be called upon to assist other departments in a declared emergency situation.
