Position Responsibilities

The Senior Manager, Security Operations is responsible for managing activities relating to monitoring, detecting and responding to Cybersecurity events and incidents. Additionally, this position is responsible for the development and oversight of the Security Operations program to ensure personnel are managed and operational efficiencies are maintained. As a leadership role, the Security Operations Manager collaborates with various technology platforms and interfaces with Deltek teams worldwide, including Product Engineering, Cloud Operations, IT, Legal, Security Architecture, and other technology and business functions.

The role requires technical competence and experience managing diverse teams. Additionally, a successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to quickly understand complex environments. Business and interpersonal skills are essential to manage risk to the business, interface with other business units and develop Security Operations Team members. The Security Operations manager contributes to the company Cybersecurity strategy and roadmap and is an excellent communicator at both the staff and executive levels.
  • Manage a Security Operations Team and third-party services to continuously monitor and respond to security alerts and incidents, ensuring 24/7/365 coverage.
  • Enhance detection, monitoring, and response capabilities by collaborating with product business units, system owners, security engineers, and other stakeholders.
  • Manage the security incident response process and teams, ensuring incidents are effectively handled through all phases, exercising decision authority, and maintaining coordination, communication, and documentation throughout.
  • Plan and execute regular incident response exercises and functional tests with a focus on creating measurable benchmarks to show progress and identify areas needing improvement.
  • Automate repetitive tasks and drive efficiencies so analysts can work on more advanced tasks.
  • Evaluate and update policies, processes, procedures and playbooks as appropriate.
  • Develop metrics and scorecards to measure risk to the organization, as well as effectiveness and efficiency of Security Operations team members.
  • Guide the career development of Security Operations team members through training, mentoring, performance management, and establishing a talent pipeline for all levels.
  • Ensure the Security Operations program adheres to compliance requirements by implementing and maintaining security controls, conducting regular assessments, and preparing necessary documentation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


  • 10+ years of experience in Cybersecurity or IT with a background in Operations, Incident Management and Engineering.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience, leading Operations teams.
  • US Citizenship is Required for this position.
  • Experience collaborating with Managed Service Providers and Contractors..
  • Highly effective communicator with ability to influence business units and summarize complex incidents.
  • Skilled in navigating complex organizational dynamics effectively collaborating with various cybersecurity teams and business units.
  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset.
  • Highly organized and efficient, leveraging strategic and tactical thinking to demonstrate effective decision-making skills.
  • Remains calm and effective during high-pressure incident response situations, even under tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrates strong leadership by managing performance effectively, maintaining high trust, and leading by example. Observes team dynamics closely, rewarding excellence and addressing issues promptly, ensuring effective management in a remote work environment.

Compensation Information

The U.S. salary range for this position is $98000.00 - $171500.00. This range is subject to change as Deltek takes a number of factors into consideration when determining individual base pay, such as location, job-related knowledge, skills and experience. Certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including incentive compensation and equity.
