Job Overview

The Social Media Content Strategy Specialist will manage the day-to-day execution of Macy's social media content strategy. The specialist will implement the brand's social media content calendar, ensure consistent execution of platform-specific strategies and content is supporting key business strategies. The role will work closely with the Senior Manager, creative teams, and external agencies to deliver high-quality, on-brand content that drives engagement and supports overall business goals. The specialist will have experience managing social media platforms for a brand and have knowledge of paid ad formats across channels.

What You Will Do



  • Manage the daily scheduling, posting, and monitoring of content across all social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Pinterest, YouTube, etc.).
  • Ensure all content aligns with the approved social media content calendar and platform best practices.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely delivery of creative content for publishing.
  • Monitor social media channels for reactive content opportunities to pitch ideas to senior leaders.
  • Track and analyze social media performance metrics, providing regular updates to the senior leaders.
  • Identify performance trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement based on platform analytics and engagement data.
  • Stay up to date with platform trends, algorithm changes, and best practices to inform content execution.
  • Implement strategies that maximize reach, engagement, and overall performance across channels.
  • Partner with the creative team to ensure all content adheres to platform best practices.
  • Support influencer collaborations and user-generated content initiatives as needed.
  • Coordinate with external media agencies to align organic content with paid campaigns.
  • Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.


Skills You Will Need



  • 3-5 years of experience managing social media channels for a fashion, beauty, or lifestyle brand.
  • Proficient in social media management tools (e.g., Sprinklr, Zelf, Sprout Social, Hootsuite).
  • Familiarity with platform-specific analytics tools (e.g., Instagram Insights, TikTok Analytics, Meta Business Suite).
  • Experience executing creative for paid social ad formats.
  • Knowledge of social media platform best practices.
  • Strong understanding of current social media trends and platform best practices.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Creative mindset with the ability to adapt quickly to shifting priorities.


Who You Are



  • Candidates with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field are encouraged to apply.
  • Regularly required to sit, talk, hear; use hands/fingers to touch, handle, and feel. Occasionally required to move about the workplace and reach with hands and arms. Requires close vision.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.
