Macmillan Audio seeks a creative and enthusiastic Publicist who is results-driven and thrives in a fast-paced environment. This position will handle publicity for our award-winning audiobooks for adults and children, and across all genres. The publicist will work directly with New York Times bestselling authors securing reviews, features, and interviews for our authors and narrators.

What you'll do:



  • Create and write innovative press materials including compelling press releases and creative pitches.
  • Pitch and coordinate media coverage highlighting original audiobook projects and audiobook editions of Macmillan books.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with broadcast, podcast, print and online media to secure reviews and features.
  • Create and maintain robust media lists for audiobook-focused media contacts.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with publicity and marketing departments across the Macmillan publishing companies.
  • Coordinate and execute audiobook media campaigns and audio-focused events.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with authors, agents, and editors.
  • Collaborate with Macmillan Audio marketing team on author management and audiobook marketing/publicity campaigns.
  • Occasional in-office responsibilities including attending author meetings, conferences, and events. Candidate can work from a commutable distance to Macmillan's NYC offices.


What you'll bring:



  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Attention to detail and superb organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task, determine priorities, and remain cool under pressure
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Muckrack Media Database, Google Suite products
  • Knowledge of Salesforce database a plus


Ideal Experience:



  • 2+ years of Public Relations experience
  • Book publishing experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required


This role will have an annual salary of $60,000-$65,000.
