About the Department and/or College TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) is an academic support program for first-generation students of all backgrounds and/or those who demonstrate a financial need. TRIO SSS provides academic advising, career advising, financial aid assistance and graduate school preparation. The program also offers leadership development and a supportive community focused on empowering students to succeed. Major/Essential Functions Working under the under the direct supervision of the Director of TRIO Student Support Services (SSS), the Assistant Director of TRIO Student Support Services will support the assets-based philosophy of the program by providing advising, planning, administering, and evaluating program activities that result in the persistence and graduation of TRIO SSS participants. The Assistant Director is responsible for advising program participants regarding course selection, degree planning, internships, graduate school, career planning, as well as providing other academic guidance. As an Assistant Director, this role will plan, implement, and present various academic support workshops and field experiences including, but not limited to: financial literacy, study skills, goal setting, graduation planning, and career exploration. The position will also maintain accurate and complete student records according to relevant laws and policies, aiding with monthly, quarterly, and yearly leadership reports required by the department, division, and federal agency. The Assistant Director will supervise the student advisory board and assist the Director with assigning tasks and providing oversight to the tutors/student assistants for the program.
Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in the area of specialization or closely related field. Three years of related administrative and technical experience. Additional job related education may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis. Preferred Qualifications
