Summary Purchases medium to large dollar procurements through the most cost effective means. Serves as the corporate small business liaison officer. Maintains and verifies the supplier registration files. Description

Location: This position is full-time (40-hours/week) Monday-Friday in a typical office environment. You will work an 8-hour shift scheduled during our normal business hours of 7:30AM-5:00PM. This role is located at 105 New Way Road, Columbia, SC 29223.

What You'll Do:

  • Prepares, distributes, receives, analyzes, and awards bids using a formal bid process such as requests for proposal (RFP's) and requests for bids (RFB's). Purchases assigned commodities. Researches invoices for payment. Makes recommendations in the selection of goods using a formal bid process. May be responsible for monitoring, trending and tracking incoming and outgoing inventory of copy machines and works closely with IT for copy machine support throughout the company.

  • Serves as the corporate small business liaison officer, overseeing the program as well. Collects, maintains, and verifies supplier registration files. Generate and maintain related reports/records used by multiple levels of staff and management across all lines of business.

  • Assists government groups in the preparation of subcontracting utilization plans. Prepare and submit forms for all government contracts in a timely manner.

  • Collects and analyzes data on potential business partners. Identifies, develops, and negotiates new opportunities or partnerships for the company.

To Qualify for This Position, You'll Need the Following:

  • Required Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Required Work Experience: 3 Years Purchasing, finance, and/or budget management experience.

  • Required Software and Tools:

    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.

  • Required Skills and Abilities:

    • Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, and customer service skills.

    • Excellent presentation and analytical or critical thinking skills.

    • Good judgment.

    • Ability to persuade, negotiate or influence.

    • Basic business math proficiency.

We Prefer That You Have the Following:

  • Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree-Business Administration or other related field.

  • Preferred Work Experience: 5 Years-Purchasing, finance, and/or budget management experience.

  • Preferred Skills and Abilities:

    • Knowledge of mathematical/statistical concepts.

    • Proficient spelling, grammar, and punctuation.

    • Exceptional customer service and organizational skills.

  • Preferred Software and Other Tools:

    • Knowledge of spreadsheet and database software.

    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

  • Preferred Licenses and Certificates: Accredited Purchasing Practitioner (APP) or Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB).
