Taft is seeking a FinTech Operations Specialist to support our team in Taft's Denver office.
We are seeking a FinTech Operations Specialist with 5+ years of experience to support our team in our Denver office. The Fintech Operations Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the FinTech Practice of this AmLaw100 firm. The specialist will work directly with the practice leader and other partners to advance the firm's FinTech strategies and action plans. Responsibilities include client support within the FinTech practice and coordinating client development, marketing, new client intake, client communications, and administrative functions. Duties and Responsibilities:
Incumbent will perform the following duties under the direction of the assigned practice leader in the FinTech practice group.
- Actively participate in planning for and implementing growth of the FinTech Practice Group through practice development (e.g. originating and planning conferences, attorney presentations at conferences, practice development events, and attorneys' thought leadership articles). Managing budgets for conferences and client-related events.
- Creating and maintaining practice group-specific research on FinTech-related topics such as new regulations, compliance strategies, and emerging technologies. Preparing materials to disseminate practice group-specific research and developments, both internally (to the FinTech practice group) and externally to clients.
- Primarily responsible for establishing communications with new and existing clients (including engagement letters, billing, distribution of thought leadership articles, and managing relationships). Drafting presentations and reports for clients, potential clients, and internal meetings. Responding to client inquiries.
- Drafting memos and other materials concerning regulatory matters or compliance issues, for the industry or for matters facing specific clients.
- Coordinating administrative staff supporting the FinTech lawyers to streamline the FinTech practice, including all of the above.
- Some filing and scheduling.
- Performing and delegating other tasks as necessary or as directed.
Knowledge, Abilities, Skills, Interpersonal and Other Requirements
- Strong organization and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with the financial services industry and Fintech trends.
Specific FinTech Knowledge
- Familiarity with the legal and regulatory landscape of FinTech, including areas like digital assets, payments, and lending.
- Understanding of emerging technologies and their impact on the financial services industry.
Education & Experience:
- 4-7 years' organizing and managing FinTech operations in a legal environment.
- Experience with FinTech clients
- Experience with institutions regulated by the SEC, FINRA , and the CFTC.
- Experience with institutions regulated by the OCC, the Federal Reserve, the New York Department of Financial Services, and state banking regulators.
- Experience with government relations.
- Experience with intellectual property.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
