Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Nuclear Cyber Security Specialist / Nuclear Behavioral Security Specialist. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our Idaho Falls, ID office with every other Friday off.

The Nuclear Cyber Security Specialist /Behavioral Specialist will lead initiatives and other efforts to assess, design mitigations, and manage insider threats through advanced behavioral science methodologies. This role involves building and consulting with nuclear facilities in conducting fitness-for-duty evaluations, developing behavioral observation programs, and providing expert guidance on psychological risk factors within high-security environments. The specialist will collaborate with domestic and international partners, delivering training and consultations to enhance personnel reliability and security programs.

Responsibilities Include:



  • Authorized to interface with and act on the behalf of the INL with US Government and other customers, agencies, other national laboratories, and industry at levels required to achieve goals.
  • Interface directly with primary internal and external mission area clients, collaborators, and advisors on matters of National Security, business growth, strategy, scope, cost, and schedule. Authorized to lead, develop and execute strategy, develop business for program growth related to NNP and N&HS mission and focus areas.
  • Build and advise on fitness-for-duty assessments, forensic evaluations, and psychological risk analyses for personnel in high-security environments.
  • Develop and provide consultations to nuclear facilities on the implementation of behavior programs to identify and mitigate insider threats.
  • Present workshops and training sessions on insider threat mitigation, behavioral observation, and workplace mental health.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to government agencies, international organizations, and private-sector partners on behavioral risk management.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design and implement behavioral security frameworks.
  • Generate ideas for new proposals and business development opportunities related to behavioral security and insider threat mitigation.
  • Participate in intra/inter organizational partnerships to address technical and behavioral challenges in high-security environments.
  • Frequent domestic and international travel to provide consulting services, conduct assessments, and training.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:



  • Master's and 10 years of experience. PhD and 6 years
    of experience
    in Clinical Psychology, Forensic Psychology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in clinical and forensic psychology, with a focus on insider threat mitigation and behavioral security.
  • Experience providing psychological evaluations for government agencies, commercial entities, and other organizations involved in high-security environments.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing behavior observation and fitness-for-duty programs.
  • Willingness to travel a minimum of 25% domestically and internationally, and sometimes for extended periods.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "Q" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.


Job Information:



  • The pay range for this position is $130,980 - $268,680, level 5. At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.
