Almac Group is currently seeking a Project Manager - Genomic Services for our Durham, NC location. The Project Manager - Genomic Services is responsible for the management of multiple projects on behalf of Almac Diagnostic Services. This role involves managing projects on behalf of the pharmaceutical sponsor and delivering these within Almac Diagnostic Services. A key part of the project management function for the Project Manager is to ensure that organizational and procedural tasks are undertaken so that project deliverables are on time and within budget.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:


  • Manage the initiation, maintenance, dispatch and closeout of individual projects, mostly coming from pharmaceutical industry customers, relating to clinical delivery and biomarker discovery.
  • Work closely with Lab operations, Quality and Bioinformatics on the planning and execution of projects
  • Work closely with pharma industry customers to understand project requirements and translate into a project scope and work orders.
  • Ensure the budget for a project is established in line with the defined project scope, and subsequently adhered to and project timelines are met
  • Own and manage the communication of each project both internally and externally
  • Organize and lead project team meetings, when required, to facilitate decision-making processes
  • Support the establishment of project management activities and, in conjunction with the broader project management (PM) team, ensure close alignment of processes between UK and US facilities.
  • Liaise with customers to ensure processing, transport and receipt of samples and associated data by the appropriate personnel in Almac Diagnostic Services
  • In conjunction with the relevant technical leads, identify resources required and establish and manage the team for any given project
  • Ensure all project documentation is maintained appropriately
  • Fulfil any necessary administration duties required for the management of the projects
  • Prepare and deliver presentations, summaries and reports relating to activities of the projects
  • Organize, participate in and keep accurate minutes of meetings and correspondence with team members and clients
  • Report to the Project Group Manager and present results to senior management where necessary
  • Support the Regulatory Team to ensure compliance with regulations, relevant SOPs and quality systems
  • Liaise with Quality Department and be familiar with the Quality Manual to ensure correct documentation and SOPs are in place and report non-conformities to ensure continual improvement


Qualifications:
Required Experience / Education:


  • Associates Degree: in a Life Sciences, Engineering or Business related discipline
  • 1+ years within a role requiring ability to organize, plan and prioritize tasks (and project teams) within a high volume workload in accordance with changing demands and priorities whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy in all work carried out
  • 1+ years within a role requiring effective communication skills (written, oral and presentational)
  • Ability to work effectively on own initiative and effectively contribute within a team environment
  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office applications to include Word, Excel and Outlook


Preferred Experience / Education:


  • Bachelors degree; in a Life Sciences, Engineering or Business related discipline
  • 1+ years in a customer facing role
  • 1+ years in the pharmaceutical industry
